The Lonely Photon

Welcome

My name is Adriano, I’m an amateur astronomer and astrophotographer based in Luxembourg, Europe. In case you’re wondering: no, I’m not the one in the pictures 🙂 That is Gatto, my trustworthy assistant and inseparable friend.

Since I can remember I’ve been fascinated by the mysteries of the cosmos, with its beautiful sights and twinkling stars. But it’s only in 2020 that I got my first telescope, and that has literally changed my life!

Today I’m a passionate astrophotographer, and each time the weather allows it (which is not too often here in Luxembourg) I pack my astrophotography gear and go out in the dark to capture those beautiful Lonely Photons that travel unimaginable distances to please our eyes.

The Lonely Photon is a project I started in July 2021 with the main goal of sharing knowledge, and hopefully bring people closer to this amazing world. Because as Stephen Hawking once said: “To confine our attention to terrestrial matters would be to limit the human spirit.“
